Dear reader piece
DEAR READER
My goals for the semester where simply to achieve an 80 or higher in all my classes. In my English, government and civics classes I believe I have done so but in my math I have definitely not. I think that I have been struggling in math simply because I’m not a great math test taker it is my weakest subject and the notes that I take are no help.
I have not really encountered any struggles this semester in Hunter College. The transition was barley even noticeable; it took no time at all to adjust to the college life. something that have worked for me is more freedom , that’s a huge plus I find myself doing a lot more work than I did before and actually being on time everyday when it was demanded of me rather than asked. My grades are higher this they ever where in the high school. It was so bottled up and small that it really felt like doing the homework that was demanded of me to do was more like a favor rather than helping me in the long run. I only thing that I think I need to work on is my math. it gets really frustrating when I sit right in class here what the teacher is saying then when I’m asked to do a problem I just blank out and forget everything.
The classes that I took this semester where government and civics which I received a b in and with the final I just took I’m certain that will go up. English 12 which the last time I checked was a b , and the advanced algebra class which I am currently failing, in order to pass I will have to pick around 70-80% of my grade determine the final.
In the next year I see myself being a successful college career in criminal justice achieving a 90 or higher in all my classes and concurring my problems with math. In the next 5 years I will have my bachelor degree in a department of law (which ever I major in) and in the work force. In the next 10 years I see myself as a very successful, young lower and living the life. my plan to achieve these goals are to work as hard as I can and do whatever it takes to be successful in my own eyes.
As a writer I like to entertain myself jot down information as it comes and not be confined to one thing. To be a successful writer in life you need to be able to relax and take your time. You can think clearer that way. To engage readers you need to keep it interesting don’t bore them to death because if you do they won’t finish reading it even if it gets better at the end.
Fiction is any form of narrative which deals, in part or in whole, with events that are not factual, but rather, imaginary and invented by its author. Although fiction often describes a major branch of literary work, it is also applied to theatrical, cinematic, documental, and musical work. In contrast to this is non-fiction, which deals exclusively in factual events.
I enjoyed writing the character profile sheet, college essay, and the list of things. I lied these the most mainly because it gave me a chance to sit and write about my self and show others another side that I don’t normally show.
I think the easiest concept was just the fact to sit and write don’t erase things just keep what’s on the paper and work with it. the most difficult part of writing the piece is probably sitting there and writing them it gets boring sometimes especially if its one that I do not care for. The only way to strengthen your writing skills is to just keep writing if you don’t they will diminish.
By the end of the year I just want to accomplish my or maintain my b or b+ average. I will really help me out with the college search if my grades are up to par. the main thing I want to accomplish is getting the experience of the college life so ill be ahead of time when others are adjusting.
This portfolio is mainly what I think about or what’s important to me right now in life. I show a lot of the things that I like and think about. It helps ease my mind off of things.
I really enjoyed meeting with you the other day, and I just know that you will continue to grow in this program and push yourself to succeed and reach your goals.
ReplyDeleteI have loved every time you participate in class, and I do think that you enjoy writing creative work. You have a strength with bringing part of your life into your work and melding it into fiction.
