Sudden fiction 3rd Draft
Martha and Kevin where expecting their baby girl in late November. When they brought these cute little pink shoes with pink ribbons, and sparkles with a little hello kitty doll on the side. But when the sonogram came back it showed that their darling little baby was actually a boy. They couldn’t believe there luck up until that appointment they where sure that it was a girl but it showed other wise. “Kevin can you help me with the crib” Martha said. But Kevin was in no mood to help and pretended not to hear her. As Martha called his name again she doubled over in pain and let out a sudden shriek. Tear ran down her face as she clutched her stomach.
“Babe what’s wrong” Kevin said bending over to help her up
“My water broke “she said looking quite stressed
“Are you sure” Kevin said taken aback by the aggressiveness in his voice
“YESS” he said screaming at the top of lounges in pain.”
Kevin rushed in the house to get his keys to the Maserati a help Martha into the car. With each passing moment she screamed a doubled over. Kevin had to stop the car to help her into the back seat thinking that it would help if she lay down. When thy arrived at the hospital she was immediately taken to the emergency room for labor, Dr. Robinson would perform the labor.
“Sir where going to have to ask you to step outside the room because quite frankly you don't look so well an it might make things worse.”
“Worse what do you mean what’s wrong”
“We don't exactly know right now but we are running test, but it seems to me that she’s have more sextuplets”
“What the hell is….wait a minute do you mean that I might be having seven children at one time doctor?”
“Yes that's what it seems like at the moment “
“Is everything alright will she and the babies are fine?”
“We don't know this kind of thing is very rare and this is the 1st time I’m allowed to deliver in surgery”
When Martha looked nervous and looked over to Kevin for support but saw that he had fainted.
As Kevin lied there in total disbelief he a lot of things began going through is mind. A lot would have to change now that he was going to be a father. He would have to change his job hours to be there more for his wife, wouldn’t be able to hang out as much going to games with the guys. The days of season tickets to the Lakers game where over. He might even have to sell his Car! It would be a stressful time of for both of them but more so his wife. As he took a swig of beer he thought to himself “seven children Jesus Christ how am I going to support seven children on my salary one two maybe three, but seven how am I going to do this”
Just then he realized he something his wife to seven children. she already cooks , cleans ( he does sometimes) goes grocery shopping , among other things on top of this there is no way he can take off from work and still support there family.
Kevin has a decision to make and he now realized just how much work his wife has done and will have to do while he’s at work.
Just then he smelled a very shape and spicy substance. Realizing that his wife was in labor he arose quickly but in the process hitting his head on a coffee table.
“Shit that hurt, where’s my wife is everything ok?”
“Yes sir everything is fine your wife is in there with the children now “said the head nurse
“All seven?”
“Yes sir four girls and three boys”
As Kevin walked into the room he was greeted with a warm smile.
“You took a pretty hard far there you’ve been out for a while”
“Yeah sorry about that”
“The children are over there I’m so exhausted need some rest”
“Don’t worry about it you get some rest and ill take care of the rest”
As he turned around to get her consent she was already snoring.
