1. Did you find that being part of the Hunter College early college program better prepared you for your future college career? How so? I do think it helped better me as far as education wise it gave me the opportunity of the freedom that we are going to have instead of the jail setting feeling in the high school.
2. What were some obstacles that you faced during the course of this year? How did you overcome them? Write about a moment of great success that you experienced this year. What happened? Some opsticals that I have experienced early trouble with my schedule, and once again last minute changes from the high school. Fortunately I was able to muster up enough to maintained decent grades to get accepted to a four year college and do what I wanted to accomplish.
4. What Hunter College courses did you take this year? Which were your favorite ones and why? If there was a course you took that you did not enjoy, what was it and why? I didn’t take any college classes this year because of past issues with my grades and schedules, but I still enjoyed my time on the campus.
5. What do you still need to work on in order to be an even more successful college student? How do you plan on working on these skills? I probably need more help separating myself when a lot of people are around because some students are not respectful when you’re trying to work.
6. Where did you study on the Hunter College campus this year? What facilities did you use at Hunter this year? I studied mostly on the 1st floor it became more our area rather than an area open to everyone. I used the laptops and computers the most. Second would be the basketball gym and workout gym.
7. What have you learned about yourself by being a part of this early college program?
That I can be a really good student if I work in silence and that I need to stay as motivated in the being as the end
8. Where will you be attending school in fall 2010?
It will either be Baruch, or Medgar Evers I haven’t decided
9. What are your personal goals for the future? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 10 years? In 20 years? Immediately 5 years I have graduated from college with a degree in psychology, 10 years from now obviously have a job being successful maybe married, 20 years from now still having a job making an exceptional amount of money and watching my kids go through their own experiences in life.
10. What advice do you have to give to future MHSHS students in order to help them prepare for this experience? Just dedicate yourself early and don’t think the 1st semester is a screw around because you’ll be sorry later.
Thank you, Elijah. It has been a pleasure having you in class this year. I have really enjoyed watching you adapt to the college environment this year. I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.
